Grounds Admission invites you to explore the historic Ford House estate at your own pace, immersing yourself in thoughtfully designed landscapes, gardens, and outdoor spaces that reflect Eleanor Ford’s vision of harmony between nature and architecture. Your visit includes access to the estate’s scenic grounds, ornamental gardens, and select historic outbuildings, including Josephine’s Playhouse, the Recreation Building, and other spaces that offer a glimpse into daily life on the estate. Please note that access to outbuildings may vary by season.
Stroll along tree-lined paths, wander through meadows and formal gardens, and follow the shoreline as Lake St. Clair stretches out before you. Across 87 acres, the landscape unfolds in moments both grand and intimate, from sweeping lakefront views to quiet wooded trails designed for reflection and connection. Each season brings its own palette, textures, and rhythms, making every visit a new experience.
Grounds Admission encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and engage with one of Metro Detroit’s most remarkable historic landscapes, where design, history, and nature meet.
