House + Grounds Admission offers a self-paced visit through the Main Residence, where architecture, art, and personal history come together in a thoughtfully preserved 1928 home. As you move room by room, you will encounter original furnishings, handcrafted details, and works of art that reflect the Ford family’s values, interests, and daily life. From Eleanor’s library to the home’s beautifully designed living spaces, each area reveals a deeper story of creativity, innovation, and family.
Your visit continues outdoors with full access to Ford House’s 87-acre estate. Wander through formal gardens and open meadows, follow tree-lined paths, and take in sweeping views of Lake St. Clair along the shoreline. Select historic outbuildings, including Josephine’s Playhouse and the Recreation Building, may also be open during your visit, with access varying by season.
