Geese Are Nesting on Grounds
Spring is here, and that means some of our feathered friends are nesting on the grounds. While exploring, please be aware of geese, as they can be protective of their nests. For your safety, we advise all guests to walk at their own risk and give geese plenty of space. Thank you for helping us respect our wildlife! 🦆🌿
Opening Reception | University Liggett School's Kindergarten Design Show: The Next Frontier
DATE: Thursday, April 3, 2025
Time: 6 p.m.
AGE RANGE: Adults
ABOUT THE EVENT:
From the ocean’s depths to the galaxy’s expanse, University Liggett kindergartners went on a year-long journey to study the world around them and the vehicles that can take them there. While studying the sea, students built ships and tested their seaworthiness. They then explored the multitude of land travel vehicles. Next, they took flight, learning about and designing airplanes. Finally, the kindergarteners designed rovers for missions to Mars and the Moon.
Working with artists and experts, the students created renderings of their rovers, followed by 3D models. Realistic design drawings of each vehicle were created by an artist, bringing their visions to life. Using AI, the children’s designs were translated into lifelike drawings showing how they might look on the Moon or Mars.
Experiential learning is a key component of the Liggett Approach. From site visits to museums to guest presenters, children are exposed to worlds of knowledge. Giving the students ownership over the design process allowed for their thinking to become concrete.
Celebrate this Teague Community Gallery exhibition at the opening reception on Thursday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m.
