ABOUT THIS EVENT

Spend the day surrounded by beauty and inspiration at Ford House’s Paint Out, our en plein air painting event for adults only! Set up your easel across 87 acres of picturesque landscapes, including serene lake views, lush forests, historic architecture, and vibrant gardens. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just beginning your creative journey, all skill levels are welcome at this outdoor painting celebration.

🌿 Event Highlights:

  • Access to Ford House’s stunning grounds to capture the perfect scene
  • Chance to win cash prizes in the juried competition: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third
  • Opportunity to submit up to two framed artworks for judging

Your ticket includes access to the Fresh Paint Party, a lively celebration of creativity, complete with a complimentary drink ticket. Water and snacks will be available for participants, but we recommend bringing extra water and any food you may need.

🖌️ Important Details:

  • Supplies are not provided or sold on-site, so please bring everything you need, including canvas, paper, brushes, painting medium, and a frame for submission.
  • This event is for adults aged 18 and older.
  • If you have a child with you, a $5 grounds pass must be purchased for their entry, and a separate Fresh Paint Party ticket is required for their attendance.

đź“… PAINT OUT SCHEDULE:

  • 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Check in for Paint Out and get a stamp on all media you will use. If you arrive after check-in and do not have your media stamped, your artwork will not be eligible for juried prizes.
  • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Paint at Ford House
  • 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Frame the artwork you are entering for the juried prize (frames not provided) and drop off your artwork with the Education Staff.
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Fresh Paint Party!  Join us for a party to celebrate the artists and the beautiful artwork created during the day. Juried prizes will be awarded! All artists from Paint Out get a free ticket to the party and one drink ticket.
