Learn the basics of screen printing with artist Shayla Johnson in this fun workshop. Create your very own original artwork, screen print using resist paste, then dip your fabric into our prepared indigo vat to reveal their own unique design. Each student will go home with 3 cotton tea towels. No prior experience necessary. All materials are provided. 

Trained in product design at Georgia Tech and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Shayla Johnson specializes in minimalist line drawings and watercolor paintings to create contemporary patterns that bring everyday products to life. She has been serving as a maker and textile designer in Detroit for 6 years. Her passion is creating hand printed art and textiles that are used to make stylish and unique home decor and accessories.
