Our Not-Too-Spooky Daytime Halloween Event for Littles

Parking and the walk

Park at the Visitor Center or in the Lake Shore grass lot across from the Main Gate, about a five minute walk from either one. ADA parking is available in both lots with a placard. There is no shuttle, because the roads are part of the route guests walk. Surfaces change as you go: paved road and sidewalk in places, stone, gravel, grass, wood chip and boardwalk in others. Some sections are challenging for wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers.

Calling all little monsters, superheroes, and fairy tale friends! Get ready for a fang-tastic day of Halloween fun at Little Goblins, Ford House’s beloved outdoor trick-or-treat event for families with young children. Dress in your favorite costume and follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail, with festive treat stations located throughout the beautiful historic estate. Each stop offers not-too-spooky surprises, photo-worthy moments, and plenty of candy to enjoy.

New for 2026: Follow a new trick-or-treating route through the estate, with the experience now making its way to the historic pool.

Accessibility Note: Portions of the trail include paved walkways, grass, and gravel surfaces. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

This event is held rain or shine. Please check the forecast and plan accordingly.

Event Highlights

What to Bring & What to Expect

Kids receive 1 complimentary treat bag.
Follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail through the trees from the Playhouse up to the Main Residence.
Enjoy lawn games, a straw maze short enough for little ones to see over, and a hay ride from the Main Residence back to the beginning.
We're participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project—offering non-candy items at each station for children with allergies/sensitivities.
One donut and one 8 oz. cup of cider is included with every ticket.
Light concessions will be available for purchase.

Guest Guide

Parking

Park in the Lake Shore lot across the street from Ford House. It opens at 10:30 a.m.
Police crossing guards and Ford House staff will help you cross the street safely until 4:15 p.m.. Please listen to their directions.
Guests with an accessible parking placard may park in the designated Accessible Parking area located in the Lake Shore Lot.
If you have dining reservations at The Continental before this event, you may also enter through the North Gate.
Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your entry time. Guests with 3 p.m. entry should arrive promptly to enjoy the full experience before 4 p.m.

Enjoying Little Goblins

Your adventure begins to your right after entering the Main Gate, heading toward the Playhouse.
Halloween treats are for children who have purchased a ticket.
After the hayride, adults and children can pick up their one donut and one 8 oz. cup of cider each.
Strollers and hand-pulled wagons are welcome, but you will be traversing varied terrain, including gravel.
Shuttles are not available for this event.

Other Helpful Info

Small bites, soft drinks, beer and wine, etc. will be available to buy starting at 11 a.m.
We kindly ask that you do not bring your own alcohol, as it is not permitted under our license.
Dogs are not allowed during Little Goblins except in the case of an ADA-compliant service dog,
Children must always stay with an adult, ensuring that they stay seated, do not climb trees, and stay off the berm at the water’s edge. Guests who are not in compliance will be asked to leave the estate.
Once the event ends, please quickly cross back to the parking lot so everyone can safely reach their vehicles.
