Discover the untold stories of resilience and strength in Invisible Labor: The History of Women Domestic Workers, a compelling new exhibition at Ford House’s Teague Community Gallery. This exhibition, created through year-long research by University Liggett School High School students, sheds light on the lives and contributions of women who worked as domestic workers in Detroit and at Ford House, often overlooked by history. Through rare records and personal stories, learn how these women—many immigrants and single—played crucial roles in the households of the 1930s.

Join us for the exhibition’s opening reception on Thursday, November 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and celebrate the incredible efforts of the next generation of historians as they bring these women’s voices to life. Don’t miss this powerful exploration of a vital piece of our collective past.
