ABOUT THIS EVENT:

Take a step back in time and join us for a lively ballroom dance class inspired by Eleanor and Edsel Ford’s love story, which began at a dance class. This time, you’ll learn the vibrant and romantic Bachata!

Bachata originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1950s. It is a dynamic style of dance that perfectly complements its namesake music. Over the decades, it has evolved but remains a beloved dance across the Caribbean and beyond.

The class is led by Louis Johnson, head coach of Detroit’s nationally ranked Momentum Ballroom Dance Team. Louis is a talented instructor whose passion for dance and mindfulness brings joy and energy to every session. As a practitioner of Mindfulness and QiGong, he encourages everyone to slow down and truly feel the moment.

Whether you’re flying solo or coming with a partner, all skill levels are welcome to join. Put on your dancing shoes and let the music move you!
